Men - The Way
About Men - The Way
“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.” – John 15:12-15, ESV
Most believers have some concept of spiritual adoption, being a child of God. (Ro. 8:15; Ga. 4:6) With church involvement, service to others, and ongoing worship, they also get a grasp of the believer’s priesthood. (1 Pe. 2:9) And, because of saturation over the last decades, many have a basic idea of Kingdom soldiery and warfare. (2 Ti. 2:3-4) But virtually no one has spent any significant time pondering divine friendship. Yet on the last night of His earthly ministry Jesus forever changed our relationship with God by saying, “I no longer call you servants… I have called you friends.” (Jn. 15:15) This is huge! In one conversation Jesus forever REDEFINED how the disciples and us would relate to God!
Like our other events at FTS, which center on a particular biblical truth or revelation (Quest: manhood, HeartQuest: womanhood, Fire & Radiance – priesthood, etc.), The Way is also a paradigm ministry experience, centering on our friendship with God and it is nothing short of life-changing!
